A stunning Tiger wood deck....just in time for summer

NW Contour's most recent project was a 600 square foot covered tiger wood deck.

Clients Goals: The Dunn's wanted to create a covered area under their deck that would NOT drip water. They also desired a portion of the deck to be covered as well (good idea for us Seattleites). Along with the functionality, the appearance of the deck was important. As you will see below the materials we used are top notch, extremely durable, and have a elegant appearance that fit the Dunn's home.

Design: NW contour developed a list of options for the client. Through the expertise and experience of our team we partnered with the Dunn's to achieve their goals above.

Details and Materials:
  • 600 square feet
  • Tiger wood decking
  • Hidden fasteners (no screws are showing)
  • Metal baluster (see railing in photo)
  • Deck Drain
  • Solid sawn cedar timbers for roof structure
  • Metal snap lock roofing

Unique to this project:
The deck was built to keep the area below completely dry. How did we do this? We used a product called "deck drain" a series of tapered pieces of rubber that were applied between the joist. Instead of water dripping down to the area below, the water is caught and redirected to a gutter on the underside of the deck
